Quality education a must for a better future; Ibobi

Asserting that to impart quality education to the children of today is a must for a better tomorrow, Chief Minister, O Ibobi today said that government is giving special emphasis in improving the education system in the state.
The CM said that the Right to Education Act has been enacted in the state as government with the objective of improving the education system as it is mandatory to frame rules which would be compulsorily follow by the government machineries under the provisions of the Act.
By enacting the Act, government is compelled to take up steps for educating each and every citizens of the state.
The CM, who spoke at a training programme of the congress worker at Congress Bhavan organized by the Congress Seva Dal, further announced that government has reviewed the decision of appointing teachers under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA).
Earlier, it was decided to appoint on contract basis but no it has been reviewed and will be appointed on regular basis, he said.
Officials of the Planning Commission of India have been closely monitoring the implementation of flagship programmes taken in each state.
They are conducting spot verification for every three months, Ibobi said informing that they had come to the state recently and inspected implementation of various schemes.
The conferments of award for excellent work to Churachandpur DC and Senapati by the Prime Minister in the recent times were the standing examples of monitoring the flagship programme by Planning Commission.
MPCC president Gaikhangam who also spoke on the occasion said that a state could be marched ahead toward development when its people knew their rights and discharges their duty accordingly.
Congress has been doing works for the welfare of the people.
That was why the party is still surviving as people's party.
MLAs, Y Surchandra and M Hemanta, former speaker Md Maniuruddin Shaik and other leaders of the part attended the training programme in which many resource persons talks of the flagship programmes implementing in the state.
