Rally held to make education trouble-free

A mass peace rally cum public meeting was held on the theme "Disturbance Free Educational Zone," on Saturday which was organised by the DESAM.
The rally was flagged off by E.Yaima, Retd.Director of Education from Thau Ground, Thangmeiband.
Later the public meeting was held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
About 8,000 high school and higher secondary students of various schools of Imphal East and Imphal West participated in the rally.
They took the route of Thangmeiband, Khoyathong, North AOC, Minuthong, Hatta, Checkon , Palace compound and finally Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
"Make Education Disturbance Free Zone," "Stop Abuse Bandhs/Blockades For Demand," "Education is the panacea for all ills," "Education is social necessity," "Stop Politicisation of Education," "We Demand State Education Policy," were some of the slogans and banners used by the students.

Various hospitals like Advance Hospital, Imphal East CMO, Directorate, Imphal Hospital, Langol View, Raj Polyclinic, Shija Hospitals extended assistance by providing ambulance and aid for students in case of necessity.
The public meeting was attended by persons like M Lokendro, President All Manipur College Teacher Association (AMCTA); M.Angamba, President, DESAM H/O; Laishram Joy, General Secretary, All Manipur Elementary School Teacher Association (AMESTA); M Deven, President, All Manipur Govt.Hr Sec Lecturer Welfare Association; Ningthoujam Chaoba, Working President All Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation and L Dinamani President, S.V Getwel School, Pangei Member, CBSE Monitoring Cell.
Pointing out the core meaning of the rally M Angamba said, "We should try to cut down festivals and prevent bandhs and blockades from affecting education sector as number of working days for student is cut down.
Anti-bandh campaign will carried out in the future in order to prevent such loss in the students' side.
We shouldn't let the education sector to become a corruption hub and being politicised.
We should stand united in order to bring a change in this sector", he added.
