Remand for murder accused

25 years old Takhellambam Kishan alias Tyson of Achanbigei Mayai Leikai, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Thongam Nirupama (whose body was found in a highly decomposed state at Haraorou Tolongkhomba Chingkhong on April 23) was remanded to six more days in police custody after he was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East Court today.
The accused Takhellambam Kishan alias Tyson (25) s/o T Biramani of Achanbigei Mayai leikai was produced before the Court by a team of Imphal East women PS, with a prayer of six more days police custody remand.
The IO of the case, through APP of the State, submitted that on April 23, a case was registered at Sagolmang PS in connection with the recovery of a highly decomposed dead body of a female Haraorou Tolongkhomba Chingkhong.
During the course of investigation, the accused who is the boyfriend of the victim girl was arrested by the police team on April 27 from his residence.
During preliminary interrogation, statements of many witnesses examined and it came to light that Takhellambam Kishan had a love affair with the victim.
The IO also submitted that the accused had disclosed that he can pin point the locations where he took the victim and committed the crime.
It was also submitted that during the course of investigation a certificate of the victim Thongam Nirupama alias Thoi alias Lily, was produced by one of her family members and accordingly the victim's age was established to be 15 and as such the IO prayed for six more days police custody remand for the accused.
The Court satisfied with the prayer remanded the accused to police custody till May 9 and also put up the case before the Special Court POCSO.
