Abducted 3 Congress workers released, vehicle hijacked

Three Congress workers were reportedly abducted, but released afterward although a vehicle had been hijacked in poll related incident which occurred in the lone polling station of Chingai A/C under Ukhrul district, where re-poll was conducted today.
Regardless of the confusion caused over the abduction and hijacking, the overall poll scenario in 45/8-Kharasom polling station was by and large peaceful and the voters exercise their franchise with SDPO Chingai, SDPO Jessami, CO of 6th MR and the personnel of 86th Battalion keeping tight security vigil in and around the polling station.
Of the total 739 voters in the polling station, 643 of them came out to cast their votes.
The three Congress workers were reportedly abducted by unknown armed miscreants along with the vehicle in which they were travelling.
The three Congress workers were, however, released after sometime.
There is no report of releasing or recovering the hijacked vehicle till the time of filing this report.
