Sit-in against CAB continues

Sit-in protests demanding Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016, which was passed in Lok Sabha on January 8, cannot be implemented in Manipur and Northeast States was staged at two places of Bishnupur District today.
Joint Committee Tiddim in association with Women's Welfare Association, Terakhongshangbi jointly organized the sit-in at Terakhongshangbi Makha Leikai while Joint Committee Tiddim together with Leimarol Apunba Meira Lup Khudekpi, Tronglaobi Makha Phairembam Leirak Meira Paibi Lup and Women's Welfare Association, Tronglaobi Makha also jointly organized the sit-in protests against CAB, 2016 at Khudekpi.
The sit-in protests were attended by Chief co-convenor Joint Committee Tiddim, SK Mangang; co-convenor Y Thomba; gen secy Khudekpi Youth Club, M Robendro; secy Leimarol Apunba Meira Lup Khudekpi, T Roma; and secy Women's Welfare Association Terakhongshangbi L Purnima Devi as resource persons and spoke at length about CAB 2016 and its implications.
Placards which read as "Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 cannot be implemented", "We oppose CAB 2016", "Withdraw Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016" were used during the protests.
Thoubal: Condemning the passing of Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 on Lok Sabha recently despite stiff opposition from North East indigenes, several protests were demonstrated in different places of Thoubal circle today.
Sit in protests were demonstrated at Tangjeng Golai, Thoubal, Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak Leikai and Athokpam Khunou.
Students of Sofia English School, Thoubal, Paradise English School, Thoubal Okram and KM Blooming School took out a protest rally against CAB along the highway and formed a human chain later.
The protesters raised slogans like "We condemn CAB", "Down down BJP" and "Dont pass CAB in Rajya Sabha" .
