MLA Khashim Vashum launches DPPB at Ukhrul

MLA Khashim Vashum today launched the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) at TNL Hall in the presence of Ukhrul District Autonomous Council (UADC) chairman Dickson Kumrah, Executive members, Councilors, Tangkhul Social Organization leaders of TNL, TSL, TKS and TMNL and the staffs of Ukhrul post office.
The MLA Khashim Vashum who attended the launching programme as chief guest said that digital technology has brought changes to the system in many ways and has paved a way forward to our postal system while adding that many new services has been added with the introduction India Post Payments Bank especially for the rural people.
He continued that IPPB has brought the bank at the doorstep of the people in which the people can download the mobile application in their phone for easy banking and added that post office saving account is the most secured account as it is undertaken by the Government.
UADC chairman Dickson Kumrah who attended the occasion as functional president assured to avail the facilities of IPPB to every nook and corner of the district and expressed concerned on the less number of post office in many villages of Ukhrul.
Earlier, the launching function was begun with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Khashim Vashum.
Meanwhile, a short live view of the launch of IPPB by the prime minister of India was also screened.
It has been reported that out of 9 IPPB Banking Centre in the State, Ukhrul is one of the district to avail the facilities of IPPB in the Ukhrul post office while over 150 individuals were allowed to open IPPB account by Ukhrul Post office during the launching function.
