Imphal, September 01 2015:
Kakching GPW Consumer Welfare Union has accused Leibaklei Gas Service, Kakching of holding up LPG cylinders meant for public distribution.
As per an agreement reached between the union and Leibaklei Gas Service proprietor on January 31, refilled LPG cylinders are to be delivered to consumers after 20 days from booking.
However, only 1-2 refilled cylinders have been made available to the 6661 consumers from the date of agreement.
The dealer's record in the IOCL website clearly states the mismanagement of LPG cylinders in 2015 .
The union has also accused Leibaklei Gas Service of disregarding the guidelines set by IOCL.
The union secretary Ksh Suresh Singh said the dealer has failed to allot consumer number to most of the new connections.
In times of price hike of cylinders, however, new connections are approved without proper verification, he alleged.
The union secretary further stated that it would lodge a complaint against Leibaklei LPG Service to the Deputy District, Thoubal; SDO, Kakching; SP, Thoubal; Kakching Municipal Council and Kakching Police Station regarding the matter.
He has also warned of legal proceedings in case the said dealer fails to rectify the misplays.
