24X7 service inaugurated at Tengnoupal, Moreh PHCs

Moreh, October 29 2014:
With an objective to provide health care facilities round the clock, D.Korungthang, MLA 42 Tengnoupal A/C inaugurated Day and Night (24x7) Service at Tengnoupal and Moreh Primary Health Centres in Chandel District today.
The day and night service at Tengnoupal Primary Health Centre was launched after renovating the health centre and posting of 17 Health Staffs including 5 doctors as well as providing a Baby Warmer Machine, Ultra Sound Machine and a National Ambulance Service Vehicle under National Rural Health Mission.
.STongpao Mate, Executive Member (CAF & PD, Art & Culture) ADC Chandel, L.Kiran Kumar, SDO Tengnoupal and Dr..NBirchandra Singh, CMO, Chandel graced the inaugural function as the Guests of Honour and Functional President respectively.

Dr. Lokendro, Additional Director (Man power dev.) State Health Department; Dr.Samson, Additional Director (Medical Care); representatives of UNICEF, State and District Health Mission; Thangkholen Mate, Chief of Tengnoupal; Leaders Kuki Chiefs Association and KSO Tengnoual Block; Staff of SDO Tengnoupal; Social workers also attended the inaugural function besides other.
Later on, 24x7 health care Service was also inaugurated at Moreh Primary Health Centre after inaugurating the newly installed Photo Therapy Machine and Baby Warmer Machine at District Sub-Hospital, Moreh by the MLA.
While appealing the doctors and other medical staff to be dedicated and sincere in their work, D.Korungthang, MLA 42 Tengnoupal A/C said that there cannot be a holiday in a hospital and for those who are engaged in the Medical Sector.
Therefore, doctors and medical staff should be dedicated, sincere and responsible in their duties in providing health care facilities to the masses, he added.
MLA also said we the tribal people often adopted home delivery despite the available of hospital and other health care facilities around us.
It is indeed a bad concept of the tribal people for preferring home delivery than institutional delivery.
We have forgotten that institutional delivery is better than home delivery as it was conducted under medical supervision of doctors and other medical staff.
As such, we have to encourage Institutional delivery than home delivery which was practiced when health care facilities were inadequate in the past, MLA added.
While appealing the people of the surrounding villagers should take the advantage of the 24x7 health care facilities, the MLA further said that it is also important for the people of the locality to extend hospitality and co-operation to the medical staff so that they can dispense their duties efficiently.
