Manipur CS PC Lawmkunga retires

Chief Secretary of Manipur, Pachuau (PC) Lawmkunga retired on Tuesday after 36 years of service.
He was given a farewell party at the conference hall of Old Secretariat by the employees of Secretariat.
The 1979 Manipur-Tripura cadre Indian Administrative officer was appointed as Chief Secretary of Manipur with effect from August 1, 2013.PC Lawmkunga, in his farewell speech conveyed his deepest gratitude to the Government of India for letting him serve the people of Manipur.
According to Lawmkunga, the 2012 General Election which he conducted successfully as Chief Election Officer was the most satisfactory duty he performed while in office.
Meanwhile, sources informed that Ameising Luikham (IAS), who hails from Ukhrul District, is likely to take over as Chief Secretary of Manipur as he is the senior most civil service officer from the state.
Ameising (Manipur-Tripura 1981 cadre) is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
