Naga Women's Union (NWU) has called for special investigation into different violent activities prevailing in the State.
NWU vehemently condemned the killing of six NSCN (K) cadres by the 10 Assam Rifles (AR) at K Songlung on June 22 .
In a press release, NWU said that all the cadres were clad in civil dress and carried no weapons when they were invited for a friendly discussion and taken away by a Major of 10 Assam Rifles.
However, they were merciless killed in cold blood which is very inhuman and gross violation of human rights, it alleged.
The press release said, "No one is given license to kill whether army, civil or armed groups" .
There is no war in Manipur and NSCN (K) is under ceasefire with the Government of India, as such killing of the six cadres by the 10 AR is against the law of the country, the union said.
The perpetrators should be booked and given befitting punishment for committing crime against the innocent cadres, it demanded.
Authorities concerned must make proper investigation of the incident and deliver justice to the victims and their families at the earliest, NWU said.
On the otherhand, NWU also denounced rape of a 68-year-old Tangkhul woman from K Somrei Village, Ukhrul district by Muhammad Sanayai (30) s/o Ibothem of Mayai Keithel, Heirok.
The man also robbed Rs 9,000 from the poor women, it added.
NWU also condemned rape of a 17-year-old girl from Yairipok Changamdabi Mathak Leikai.
She was abducted from the gate of Universal College, Yairipok by unidentified persons and gang raped her on June 19 .
In this regard, NWU urged the Government to do proper investigation into these cases, and give befitting punishment to the culprits.
The union also demanded that the victims be compensated at the earliest.
There have been several cases of rape and violence against women and many of the rape victims were left without any rehabilitation and compensation.
