Imphal, May 28 2018:
The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Student's Union-Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTUSU-RCM) has strongly condemned the Director/Vice Chancellor for their alleged failure to meet the deadline for resolving the problems in IGNTU, RCM.
"The VC failed to turn up on the set date, May 28, 2018", the IGNTUSU-RCM alleged today.
The IGNTUSU-RCM also sad that it "condemns in the strongest term the unethical work of some staff of IGNTU-RCM who planned a seminar in the name of the IGNT-University RCM even after they were informed not to conduct any academic activities inside or outside of the campus as the university was in agitation that led to its closure for about a month".
The student union said it has taken this gravely "since it was done intentionally".
According to the IGNTUSU-RCM, the seminar was supposed to be organized by National Book Trust of India in collaboration with IGNTU-RCM while Dr Sukhdeba Sharma who serves as Asst.
Prof, MSW Dept and the Director of the institution "worked hand in glove for their personal benefit" .
The IGNTUSU-RCM said that the authority concerned must take necessary actions against the duo for their "corrupt practices" .
The student body said that the ongoing workshop and seminar must also stop until an acceptable and clear explanation comes from the mentioned persons.
"If no acceptable clarification is received before May 29, 2018, the student union will take up necessary action for which they shall solely be held responsible for any untoward outcome," it cautioned.
The IGNTUSU-RCM added the students of the varsity will not stay idle if the VC fails to turn up tomorrow and solve the present impasse of the IGNTU, RCM by tomorrow, i.e.May 29, 2018 itself.
"The student union further demands that all those staff and students of IGNTU-RCM who are involved in the seminar to tender an explanation as well as an apology at the earliest, failing which they shall be ostracized from the varsity once and for all and no complaints whatsoever shall be entertained in future," it further said.
The IGNTUSU has been agitating since May 3 demanding that a number of issues confronting the University be addressed.
