Committe cleans hospital road, issues public directives for lockdown

Senapati, March 28 2020:
Acknowledging the appeal of the State Government and beefing up efforts to sanitize public spaces from garbage and waste, the Senapati-Karong Town Committee in collaboration with District Administration and Senapati police conducted a massive social work from District Hospital to Senapati bridge on Saturday.
According to Town Committee president, A John, the social work was organized in view of cleaning the town from all garbage and waste to prevent breeding space for any diseases in view of the dreaded COVID-19 creating havoc globally.
The work began at around 6 am and concluded at 10 am.
Members from District police, Town Committee staff, womenfolks and others joined the social work by maintaining distance and wearing a mask.
The committee also urged the public to refrain from unnecessary gathering and driving around with more than 3 persons.
It has directed that lockdown should be adhered by all and go out only when it is of utmost importance.
No outside visitors will be allowed in the town areas and any person coming from outside will be quarantine on compulsory, it said.
While appealing to the general public to stay at home, the committee informed that groceries, food stores and essential item establishments will be allowed to open from 6 am till 12 noon.
