Imphal, March 26 2019:
North East India Development Party (NEIDP) candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Ashang Kasar strongly condemned allegations made against the party and reiterated that he will contest the election under the party's banner despite the 'threat' received from armed groups demanding withdrawal of his candidature.
Terming the allegation that the party (NEIDP) is Meitei/Meetei centric as 'false propaganda' that aims to discredit the party of its effort of uniting the hill and valley people and bringing overall development, Ashang Kasar urged the armed groups, which he didn't identify, to roll back their 'threat'.
Speaking to media persons at NEIDP's office in Sagolband yesterday Asang Kasar said that the party is committed to bridging the hill valley gap.
The party was founded with the aim of bringing development in the North-East India irrespective of the communities within.
The party stands for all sections of the people, he said.
"It is unfortunate that certain groups who are victims of a false propaganda have issued threat asking me to withdraw my candidature," he said urging people and organisations concerned to stop spreading false propaganda that undermines the party image.
NEIDP CWC president Narengbam Samarjit was also present at the press meet.
