Imphal, April 25 2013:
The All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU), the Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) and Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM) alleged that the concocted, fabricated and baseless claims and justifications made by militant outfit Revolutionary Peoples Front/Peoples Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) stating that Alice Kamei, a minor school girl who is studying in Class-IX, joined the underground organization on her own volition has once again been exposed.
"The FIR of which copies were obtained by us registered at Kakching Police Station which mentioned as punishable Under Section 18(B)/20UA(P) Act, 1967 against the two women namely Mrs.Elangbam Thoinu Devi, w/o E.Tiken Singh and Ms.Elangbam Rojita Devi @ Tekpi @ Nene, d/o E.Ingobi Singh both hailing from Hiyanglam, Thoubal, who were arrested by police on April 5, revealed that they are over ground workers and members of gang terrorists for the purpose to recruit new cadre for the organization.
The FIR also clearly mentioned of these two women's over ground workers are working under the command of S/S Child Recruiter namely E.Ranjana Devi of RPF/PLA and revealed to have received a sum Rs.30,000 from the RPF/PLA for recruiting Alice Kamei and her friend," the Zeliangrong organisations pointed out today.
"Mr.Irengbam Chaoren, at the capacity as the President of the RPF/PLA, on behalf and representing the outfit declared on 6th August, 1997 declared to comply with all provisions of Article 3 common to the four Geneva Convention of August, 12, 1949 under Article 77 Protection of children, wherein agreed to refrain from recruiting persons not attained the age of eighteen years.
Held captive a minor school girl child since 10th March, 2013 with intention to converting her into underground cadre is total contradiction to its own declaration therefore, the RPF/PLA should uphold its own declaration," the AZSU, ZYF and ZSUM further pointed out.
The Zeliangrong bodies then said Manipur reeling under the present situation has been the result of the prolong captivity of the minor school girl by RPF/PLA despite several appeals and even protest demonstrations to secure her safe release.
