JAC seeks attention of Governor

The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO), the apex organisation of Government employees, workers & pensioners has sought the attention of the Governor of Manipur over the alleged harassment of employees on duty by the Para Military Forces at New Checkon on May 22 .
In a letter addressed to the Governor of Manipur, JAC claimed that on May 22, a team of fire service personnel on duty who rushed in at New Checkon area to save the lives and properties from burning down were assaulted, lathicharged and manhandled inhumanely without any provocation by the Rapid Action Force (Para Military Forces) deployed in Manipur to control violence.
"Even media persons/ cameramen were not spared.
They were also being attacked severely", it claimed.
The JAC urged the Governor to take punitive/ disciplinary actions against those errant personnel of RAF who were involved in attacking unarmed fire service personnel on official duty without any delay to prevent further misunderstanding.
