Presidency College celebrates

Presidency College Motbung today celebrated its 40th Foundation day at its Jubilee Hall, Motbung.
Organised under the aegis of the Students' Union of Presidency College, Motbung, the celebration was attended by Minister of IFC, Printing and Stationary Namthang Haokip as Chief Guest, MLA of 16-Sekmai A/C Kh Deben Singh as Guest of Honour and Principal of Presidency College, Motbung Dr..TGangte as President.
Representatives of Motbung Village Authority, KSO-SH, TSA-SH and some renowned Kuki artistes also attended the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ngamthang Haokip recalled that Presidency College has been established for all communities in Sadar Hills after lots of difficulties and hardships.
"So, I am very delighted that the College is celebrating its 40 years of existence.
On this special occasion, I would like to appeal to the Students' Union to initiate effective steps for better improvement and development of the College", the Minister said, adding that the Students' Union should ensure proper attendance and look after the sanctioned scheme or amount for the College development.

MLA Kh Deben observed that the college has produced many good students, well-known individuals during the last 40 years of its establisghment.
" I am really surprise to learn that two of the students are being honoured on this auspicious occasion for bringing laurels to the College in the field of sports at the National and International level", he added.
The MLA also assured to donate 2 computer sets as per the Students' Union's request.
Earlier, delivering the welcome note, Haopu, Asst Professor of the College, mentioned that the current Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th.Lokeshore Singh and his wife Nivedeta, Under Secretary in Manipur Secretariat, are products of the College.
