11th State level pineapple festival concludes

The 11th State level Pineapple cum sellers & buyers meet & youth festival, organised by Development Organisation, Andro Kendra (DOAK) wrapped up today at Thambalunu Market complex Poiroupat Lamkhai under Andro AC.
The 11th State level Pineapple festival was organised for six days.
Forest and Environment Minister Th Shyamkumar graced the closing ceremony as chief guest while Manipur Pollution Control Board Chairman as well as MLA Wangoi AC, L Radhakishore Singh attended the event as president and MIDA Manipur vice chairman O Lukhoi Singh.
Horticulture & Soil Conservation Department Director K Kipgen shared the dais as dignitaries among others.
Various cultural and entertaining programmes were shown during the ceremony, apart from a musical number from The Blue Band Manipur and an extravagant event of Miss Pineapple Queen 2018 .
Liveral Artists Union's 'Androgi Pungjao Thilakle' and 'Ching Tarn Apunba Jagoi' by T Suresh and his party from Itham marked the closing day.
Addressing the gathering, MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar stated that the celebration of Pineapple festival began 11 years back and NEC has fortunately sanctioned Rs 20 lakh.
A company has also proposed to buy the pineapples produced in the State, he claimed while assuring that necessary steps will be taken up to promote and make the State-produced pineapples available in other countries.
