Scholarship for meritorious girls announced by District Administration, CCpur

In its efforts to promote girl child, district administration Churachandpur has decided to give scholarship to ten meritorious girls belonging to marginalized sections of the society.The scholarship under the name 'People's Initiative for Girl's Education, Churachandpur' would be given to ten selected meritorious girls, in furtherance of Government of India's Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative for education, upto matriculation with a ceiling of Rs 20,000 per girl student.
The fund for the scholarship of meritorious girls would be appropriated to corpus fund created out of the proceeds of the FootGal-2018 (a night futsal tournament for girls held in October this year) as well as contributions made by DLOs and the public.
A committee was formed on October 31 last to appropriate the said funds towards scholarship of meritorious girls.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Shyam Lal Poonia, the meritorious ten girls/students for the scholarship for the academic year 2019-20 would be selected through an examination which will be held on January 15, 2019 .
The application forms for the exam are available for downloading on https://churachandpur.nic.in and can also be availed from Room No 33 of DCs Office, Churachandpur during office hours.
As per the eligibility criteria laid down by the district administration, the applicant should be a domicile of Churachandpur district, annual income of both parents should be less than Rs 1 lakh, the applicant should be between 12 and 16 years of age (as on Dec 31, 2018) and the educational qualification should be Class VIII pass.
The written exam will be of 75 marks containing 50 multiple choice questions with a duration of one hour.
The questions will be on general awareness (General Science, Arithmetic, Social Sciences, English, GK etc) of Class VIII standard.
Details of exam centre will be communicated in due course.
A total of 20 students would be short-listed based on written marks and will be called for interview by the committee.
The final selection would be based on combined marks secured in written as well as interview subject to necessary verification.
Duly filled in application should be submitted at Room No 33, DCs office, Ccpur during office hours on or before 4 pm of January 10, 2019 .
