Free gas connection cards distributed

Former Corporator of IMC Ward number 26, Meibon Phaomei has appealed to the locals for collective efforts to help in making the Ward a 'drug free one' under the aegis of 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He made the above appeal while speaking at the distribution programme of free gas connection cards to beneficiaries under Ujjwala Scheme held at his residence at Namdunlong today.
Addressing media persons on the sidelines of the programme, he expressed concern over the increasing number of drug users in IMC Ward number 26 .
Stressing on the need of taking up strict measures to tackle drug menace which has adversely affected the State, Meibon Phaomei maintained that if the issue persists, it will hamper the economic and social status of the State considerably.
He appealed to all to extend all possible support to the Chief Minister's 'War on Drugs' campaign setting aside political differences for a developed and peaceful society.
He went on to state that the free gas connection and cards are being distributed to the genuine beneficiaries who were left out earlier owing to COVID-19 pandemic.
The free gas connection cards were distributed to around 70 beneficiaries in today's programme.
