One-day training cum awareness prog held

The Directorate of Extension Education, CAU and Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institution (IGFRI), Jhansi, UP organised a one-day training cum awareness programme on 'Income generation and livelihood security for tribal farmers of Manipur' today at Ngairong village, Churachandpur district.
Dr Th Robindro Singh, Deputy Director, Directorate of Research, CAU, Imphal; Dr N Norjit Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Animal Science, CoA, Imphal and Dr Joseph Koireng, Scientist, AICRP, Fodder crop, CAU, Imphal, attended the training cum awareness programme as the resource persons.
More than 100 farmers attended the programme.
Piglets, chicks and goats were distributed to selected farmers attending the training programme, a statement informed.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Th Robindro Singh said, the main purpose of organizing the programme was to raise awareness among the farmers about the various ways of earning livelihood through farming, rearing and other activities.
