Three days mega legal camp begins at Singngat

A mega legal camp involving about a dozen government agencies have begun today at Singngat sub-divisional hqtrs under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA), Imphal and Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles.
Justice Kh Nobin, Judge High Court of Manipur and Executive Chairman MSLSA along with the Secretary of MSLSA Gaiphulshillui Kabui; the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav, the SDO of Singngat Jameson Hangsing, SDPO Churachandpur Shivanand Surve, Churachandpur District Legal Services Authority Secretary Letkho Kipgen, and Col Satya Mishra, CO 7th Sikh Regiment Singngat among others graced the inaugural camp at Singngat Public Ground which will continue till Wednesday.
The Churachandpur District Legal Services Authority took the onus of organizing the mega camp in collaboration with the district administration Churachandpur and Lakhimpur Battalion Assam Rifles.
About a dozen government agencies have set-up stalls at the venue to disseminate awareness among the public and cater to their queries.
The stalls include those run by District Legal Services Authority, District Social Welfare Office, Traffic Police, New Lamka Legal Aid Clinic, Forest Department, Medical Department, ICDS Singngat, Agriculture Department, SDO/BDO Singngat, DAPCU Churachandpur, and two counselling centres of the 2 Lakhimpur Bn Assam Rifles.
Addressing the inaugural event, Justice Nobin said that the legal awareness camp was being organized in the far-flung areas of the state to make the local populace aware of their rights conferred by the Constitution.
There are more than 100 schemes introduced by the government both by the centre and state for its citizens and the public must be made aware of these schemes.
The legal rights referred in the current campaign is nothing but the benefits given to the people by these schemes, he said adding that those people who are eligible for any of the scheme but have not received the facilities may approach the concerned department for receiving the benefits.
