Kalen Art Exhibition commences

Bishnupur, May 18 2022:
A five-day art exhibition titled Kalen Art Exhibition was kicked off at Loktak Folklore Museum located in Thanga Tongbram Leikai, Bishnupur district today in connection with the observance of International Museum Day.
The art exhibition has been launched with the goal of encouraging painters across the State to keep pursuing their art.
Altogether 55 artists from various places outside the State participated in the exhibition.
The day's event was attended by Yumnam Nabachandra, president Arts Society Manipur; Debendra Thiyam, eminent artist and Dr S Thaninleima, theatre director as presidium members.

Tongbram Amarjit, founder Loktak Folklore Museum, also handed over the Tongbram Ahongjao Meitei Art Award 2022 to Phairenjam Devit Singh from Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Mamang Leikai as part of the event.
Tongbram Amarjit also spoke a few words on the occasion and said that the exhibition was launched to encourage artists and to show that it is possible to pursue art professionally.
