Dimapur, December 17 2017:
Anti-corruption campaign group, Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland said today that it "is shocked that despite the dire situation of the Naga political reality the factions would still indulge in anti-people activities thus hampering the Naga cause" .
ACAUT said that the statesmanship of the Naga political groups (Naga revolutionary outfits) is called for at this juncture, “provoking the masses with condemnable criminal activities is not only foolish but creating roadblocks” towards settlement of the Naga issue itself.
"Thus, the Naga political groups creating such a situation is totally condemnable", ACAUT said.
It then requested the various Naga outfits to undertake immediate remedial measures with regard to "two situations which have angered the masses" .
ACAUT then demanded that the Kohima Command/Region of a particular Naga revolutionary outfit should return the keys of the taxis which its cadres had seized on December 13 to the rightful owners immediately and apologize publicly failing which the ACAUT threatened that it will be compelled to file FIR and resort to other course of action.
"In the meantime, it supports the indefinite bandh called by the ACVA to protest the manner in which its members have been harassed.
Again, to harass the ACVA would be a direct challenge to all right-thinking Nagas," ACAUT added .
ACAUT also demanded that that another Naga outfit clears the air surrounding their role in the kidnapping of a bonafide Naga.
It also demanded that the particular outfit gives a public apology and terminate its erring cadres in case the organization is responsible.
The outfit should understand that it being a part of the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) means that it's imperative to act most responsibly, ACAUT said .
"Any of the Naga political groups should not wreck the Naga train desperately ambling towards its destination by indulging in criminal activities," ACAUT stated.
