Imphal, August 17 2015:
JNIMS staff may take the decision to close the medical institute if the bandh supporters keep on preventing their movement and uttering abusive words at them.
Speaking to reporters, JNIMS Director Prof Deben Laishram said that an ambulance which transported four doctors and JNIMS Relief Committee members were stopped at different places on Tiddim road and Singjamei-Lilong road yesterday.
They were enquired by bandh supporters, who uttered abusive words, he said.
He said that if the bandh supporters keep on blocking medical staff and showing such unwanted conduct, JNIMS staff may close the medical institute after informing the matter to the higher authority.
JNIMS medical staff along with JNIMS Relief Committee members have been rendering service to the people at this critical juncture.
However, such attitudes of some bandh supporters have discouraged them, he said.
As such, he requested the public to give free passage of medical staff so that they may serve the people at their best level.
