Imphal, July 17 2014:
The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) in a press release expressed their concerns over the issue of health delivery failure in the State mentioning that repeated public statements were pronounced against irresponsible doctors of RIMS, JNIMS and also other private clinics to render public service in the interest of the people especially for those poor and downtrodden people.
The release further mentioned that failure of health delivery system due to negligence of the doctors occurs repeatedly notwithstanding the remarks against the negligent doctors while popular programme of Healthy India is broadcasting on AIR and Doordarshan.
But it carries no meaning to the poor people while the programme only remains a publicity episode for the doctors to make them popularized through Healthy India programme.
MSF also expressed doubtful over the increasing caesarean delivery of children and its increase of dead toll of the delivering mothers in the State furthering that normal child delivery was the norm in earlier days while delivering the child by the local maibi in the State, it said.
In this regard, MSF warns to all concerned that befitting measures against the wrongdoing doctors will be taken up so as to streamline healthcare system in Manipur, it said.
