Thoubal, November 16 2019:
Rapid Action Team Khangabok, under the aegis of COCOMI, organised a public meeting on "Naga Peace Talk & Integrity of Manipur" at Seven Star Youth Club ground in Thoubal Khangabok Sorok Wangma yesterday.
COCOMI Assistant co-ordinator Ph Nando Luwang, Meira Paibi leader M Yanak and Social Welfare Club president L Jiban attended the function as presidium members.
Demanding against any kind of impact on State's integrity following the Naga political dialogue, Nando Luwang stated that amidst the unrest and anxiety among the people as a result of the non-disclosure of the peace talks, the negligence of the State Government and the MLAs in convening a State assembly till date is unfortunate.
The series of events happening in the State including the airlifting of para military forces are reasons enough to cause more anxiety among the masses, he added.
Urging the authorities concerned to convene the assembly session at the earliest, he added that the people have stood their ground and will continue to fight against any kind of impact on the integrity of the State.
People gathered at the meeting also decried the rapid militarisation in the State.
The meeting further appealed all not to open stalls at the upcoming Sangai festival and added that people should stand together as the situation has become unpredictable in Manipur.
