CRPF conducts cleanliness drives

As part of Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) campaign, 109 Bn CRPF organised a cleanliness drive at Mongsangei Upper Primary School, Mongsangei, Imphal West today .
The campaign was launched by Vinod Kumar Commandant 109 Bn CRPF, Mongsangei under the aegis of IGP M&N Sector, CRPF in the presence of Y Bimola Devi, headmistress and S Roshikanta, secretary of SUN Club .
Around 100 personnel of 109 BN CRPF, school teachers, children and members of the club participated in the campaign .
Speaking at the occasion, Vinod Kumar, Commandant emphasized the need for a clean India which can be achieved only by active participation of each and every citizen .
He said that the school was selected to start the campaign as it is located in a low lying area and the school ground is not properly maintained .
He appealed to the school children to inculcate the habit of maintaining a good personal hygiene and cleanliness at home and in school .
He informed that in the next few days up to October 2, such cleanliness drives will be organized by 109 Bn, CRPF in various schools, institutions and localities of Mongsangei area .
He thanked all the participants for their active contribution in the National campaign.
Bimola Devi, staff and children of Mongsangei Upper Primary School thanked the Commandant for launching the campaign in their school .
Another cleanliness drive under the campaign was also conducted by GC CRPF along with students of KV Langjing .
The cleanliness drive covered the entire area from GC CRPF Gate No 3 to Patsoi village .
69 Bn CRPF also conducted a cleanliness drive as part of the campaign at its Mantripukhri headquarter in the presence of Dharm Prakash, Commandant, Ujjal Dutta, Second-in-Commandant, Ajay Singh, Deputy Commandant, Ram Niwas, Assistant Commandant, other subordionate officers and jawans .
A cleanliness drive was also carried out under “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign by 86 Bn CRPF at Lamphelpat area in coordination with civil public of HMAR community and Government employees of PWD and families of CRPF Jawans under the supervision of Kalyan Singha, Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF .
During the drive, suroundings of Lamphelpat and its adjoining areas were cleaned by removing redundant bushes, debris and garbage lying along the roadside.
