In drives against the leaders of the All Manipur Students' Union behind the class boycott agitation in support of Apunba Lup's ongoing agitations, police have picked fathers of AMSU's president and vice president today.
The 87 year old man identified as Khangembam Mangi of Thangmeiband Lourungpurel Leikai father of vice president Kh Khaba of AMSU has been picked up by a team of Imphal police station this morning from his house, according to the family.
While taking away the old man, family was reportedly told that he will not be released till his son Khaba is produced to the police.
The 54 year old Irengbam Ranjit of Kwakeithel Lamdong Leikai, father of AMSU president I Jamesbond has also been picked up by the police this afternoon on the alleged charge of not producing his son, Jamesbond.
Since the announcement of the class boycott on September 8 last, students in most of the schools in different parts of the state have stopped attending schools.
Meanwhile, police source said that even though the students body announced class boycott, classes were found conducting at DM College of Science and GP Women College.
