Case filed against Chief Editor

Deputy Inspector General of Manipur Police, Themthing Ngasangva has filed a criminal contempt case against Chief Editor of a local daily for publishing an article relating to the criminal contempt case against MPS officer Thounaojam Brinda.
The criminal contempt case filed by the DIG is listed for hearing tomorrow by a Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice Lanusungkum Jamir and Justice Kh Nobin.
DGP Themthing Ngasangva filed the criminal contempt case against the Chief Editor of the local daily for allegedly publishing an affidavit submitted by the then Additional SP NAB Thounaojam Brinda in the High Court on July 13 .
The Court was hearing the criminal contempt case against her for allegedly flouting Court decorum and undermining the 'judicial system' following the bail awarded to alleged drug kingpin Lhukhosei Zou, former Chairman ADC Chandel.
The Court had taken up the suo moto criminal contempt case against Thounaojam Brinda following her 'unethical' post on Facebook criticising Special Judge ND&PS Manipur on May 23 .
