Dimapur, December 14 2013 :
The recent statement of Union Home Secretary North East in-charge Shambhu Singh's on the Indo-Naga peace talks has irked the National Socialist Council of Nagalim, Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM).
The Naga outfit then advised the Union Home Secretary to restrain himself from commenting on the Indo-Naga 'political' talks.
In a statement made available to Newmai News Network today, the NSCN-IM said that it has taken a serious view of the Union Home Joint Secretary North East In-charge Shambhu Singh's statement appeared in a Dimapur based newspaper where he has "expressed his displeasure over the NSCN-IM's attempt to 'use his statement out of the context to serve their ulterior motive'" .
The NSCN-IM also said that Shambhu Singh statements were also appeared in a section of Imphal media with the captions "Delhi-NSCN (IM) political dialogues, No immediate solution in sight: Shambhu Singh" and "In a democracy, all stakeholders need to be involved: Shambhu" .
"Therefore, on the basis of these reports the NSCN had responded its position and at the same time questioned Shambhu Singh's unwarranted statements," the NSCN-IM stated.
According to the NSCN-IM, it has been officially understood that the competent Indian authority to give statements on the Indo-Naga political talks would only be the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Interlocutor.
"Is Mr.Shambhu Singh above the Government of India (GoI)?" the Naga outfit asked.
What is his idea about 'their ulterior motive'?" the NSCN-IM further questioned.
"It will be a wise move on his part to restrain himself from talking on the Indo-Naga political talks", it then advised.
"Why Mr.Shambhu Singh never hesitates to point his finger to NSCN?" the Naga outfit continued to asked.
It then said that Shambhu should blame himself for his unwarranted statements and clarify himself for misquoting or distorting his statements.
