Imphal, August 13 2010:
Welcoming KNF (Samuel), president of KNO PS Haokip has invited remaining members of UPF to join KNO as well to be a part in the talks with the Government of India.
In a statement, Haokip informed that KNA, KNF (Military Council), KNF (Zogam), USRA, ZRF, UKRA, ZDV, HNA, KLA, KRA (United), United Old Kuki Liberation Army, Pakan Army, KRA and Kuki Liberation Army are the other organisations that have come into the fold of KNO.
Each of these organisations have formally signed Deed of Agreement with KNO.
He also called upon these organisations to firmly resolve to share the umbrella of KNO and to make an official declaration through media in this regard to prevent external influence from affecting the unity and political stand of the Kuki people.
He further said that the unity of Kuki people under KNO is the first of its kind in the last over 50 years.
Disunity in the past has taken a severe toll, socially and politically.
However, 'by our joint efforts we are in the process of reversing that pitiable state of affairs'.
The road ahead may be laden with many challenges but together as people of common origin with common past and shared culture, customs and traditions, we will overcome those challenges, Haokip observed.
