Ex-servicemen interaction, grievance redressal meeting

Khuga Battalion conducted an Ex Servicemen (ESM) interaction and grievance redressal meeting at Churachandpur Sector, Assam Rifles, Tuibong yesterday, conveyed a press release of PIB Defence .
The event was attended by a total of around 50 ESM and Veer Naris (Widows).
Effort was made to inform the people about various schemes and programmes for their welfare .
They were also informed of the procedure for removing discrepancies in their pension documentation .
It was informed that a total of about Rs 2,63,00,000 have been reimbursed to ESMs and Veer Naris till now by the efforts of the battalion .
According to the press release, they were encouraged to inform other people also to take the help of "Suvigya Cell" set up at Khuga Battalion for this purpose .
On the occasion, Commander Churachandpur Sector, Assam Rifles, Brigadier Ajay Kumar said that defence forces are always there to help and take care of our retired brothers and dependents of the deparated souls, in all walks of their life .
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Oinam Nabhakishore Singh, Officer-in-Charge, ECHS Polyclinic, Churachandpur, mentioned the great efforts by defence forces in looking after the ESM and Veer Naris.
He also stressed upon the important role of media in disseminating the information to the people as some of them live in far remote areas in Manipur .
Luam Khanching w/o (L) Nk Kamhathang, who lost her husband seven years back, mentioned that the help provided by Suvigya was a god gift to her as the money that she received by the help of "Suvigya Cell" would go a long way in taking care of the studies of her children, as she is the lone bread earner of the family.
The meeting concluded by vote of thanks by the ESM, the press release added.
