'Scientific Justification of the Meitei Folk Be-
liefs' written by Irom Mangi and 'The Summer Snow' written by
Birkarnelzelzit Thiyam were released today at the Auditorium of
Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal.

Radhakumar attended as the chief guest while Dr Sorokhaibam
Chauba was the functional president.
Dr Sarungbam Gunedhor
was the guest of honour.
Speaking at the function, Radhakumar stated that the book
'Scientific Justification of the Meitei Folk Beliefs' co-relates
the relation between science and religion and beliefs with
vision and deduce reasons of many folk beliefs.
Belief is beyond vision and scientific reasoning on all
subjects reflected in the books is worth mentioning, he added.
On 'The Summer Snow' Radhakumar said that the young
energetic columnist echoes the issues faced by the State in
lyrical forms.
Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam who spoke on the book 'Scien-
tific Justification of the Meitei Folk Beliefs' said that the
traditions and folk beliefs of the Meiteis classify certain prac-
tices as undoable and even restraints are put on edibility of
specific food.
These beliefs are followed largely unquestioned.
It is considered that trespassing over such old decrees are
often implicated with evidential consequences.
The book as-
certains the practical rational of the folk beliefs, he added.
Author of 'The Summer Snow' Birkarnelzelzit Thiyam,
said that the book questions to all and sundry for making a
positive cry and also focuses on the most important
unfocussed parts of all social issues.
