Najma felicitates 5 J&K Rifles lauding their flood relief work

Imphal, September 11 2018:
Governor Dr Najama Heptulla felicitated 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) for its dedicated and concerted efforts duing the recent floods in the State.
The ceremony was held at Raj Bhawan today.
The swift and timely rescue-cum-relief operations carried out by the Battalion in the month of June saved many lives during the sudden outbreak of the natural disaster.
The Battalion was requisitioned by the State Government to provide aid and assistance for the rescue operations, medical assistance and setting up relief camps.
The well-coordinated and relentless rescue and relief efforts in the adversely affected areas of Irong Makha Leikai, Maibam Konjin Sagolsem Leikai, Uchiwa Matai Konjin and Uchiwa Thanga Leikai saved precious lives of many people as well as livestock who were stranded in the flood caused by the torrential rains.
This is the first time that an Army unit is being felicitated by the Governor with Unit Appreciation in Manipur.
Dr Najma Heptulla expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Commanding Officer and all ranks of Tulihal Battalion for the unprecedented humanitarian assistance provided to the people during the natural calamity.
