Man attacked with knife

Chandel, May 11 2017:
A man identified as K PR Kom (56) of Tonsen village, Chandel was attacked with a knife by two persons yesterday morning.
Speaking to media persons today, PR Kom stated that he is a simple man who earns by selling charcoal while residing at Beru Khudam, Chandel district.
He said that he returned home on May 9 and two persons of the same village identified as K Nembart Kom (46) and his nephew K Stallon (19) attacked him with a knife when he went to Nembart's house to sell an axe head.
He was taken to Nembart's kitchen and attacked with a knife, he added.
Later he came to know that, PR Kom's brother and Nembart had a history regarding power struggle for the seat of village chief.
Since he was not aware of the history between the two, he simply went to sell his axe head, he claimed.
He was admitted to Sugnu CHC but was taken to RIMS since his condition was critical.
He urged the authority concerned to punish the culprits and appealed not to repeat such acts in the future.
A complaint was filed at Sugnu police station.
