7th Economic Census launched in different districts

Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamson today launched 7th Economic Census exercise for Ukhrul district at DRDA conference hall, Mini Secretariat Office Complex, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.
The DC flagged off the Economic Census exercise in the presence of District Statistical Officer Shimthar, enemurators, supervisor and well wishers.
He also handed over appeal letter to the supervisors during the programme.
Over 130 enumerators and 25 supervisors were engaged for the 7th Economic Census exercise that has to be completed within three months.
Speaking as the chief guest of the launching function, DC Ukhrul expressed that economic census for every households is very important to determine and establish the factual living conditions of every citizens of the country.
Increase per capita income of the district will indicate the economic growth which will pave the way for the government to focus more on development activities while lesser per capita income will infer more BPL families in the district thereby helping the Govt to initiate more welfare scheme to alleviate the living condition of the people.
He urged every enumerators to visit to all the remote villages of Ukhrul district, interview them and collect the correct data and information in order to feed the Govt with accurate information for proper planning.
Economic Census is implemented by Ministry of Statistics, Dept of Economic and Statistics in collaboration with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited.
CCPUR: The 7th Economic Census 2019 was set into motion in respect of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts today by the respective Deputy Commissioners.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the launching programme at his office premises, DC Churachandpur Pawan Yadav appealed to all the concerned stakeholders to take part in the operation wholeheartedly and extend maximum cooperation to the enumerators so that the data thus collected served its purposes meaningfully.
Pherzawl: DC Pherzawl Mannuamching also launched the 7th Economic Census 2019 at her office located at DTC campus, Tuibong today.
Exuding great confidence that the enumerators and supervisors would cover all villages within the district in a free and fair manner, Mannuamching assured all possible help to the enumerators from the district administration side in order to carry out the census operation successfully.
DLOs of both districts were present at the launching programme of the Economic Census operation which will go on for three months.
A total of 249 Enumerators, 53 level-1 Supervisors and one level-2 Supervisor will conduct the census in Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.
The Economic Census is a complete count of all establishments and it is aimed at collecting information like type of economic activities, number of workers, turnover, etc, which will in turn help Govt to formulate development planning.
SEnapati: The 7th Economic Census 2019 was officially launched today by Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Somorjit Salam (IAS) at DC conference Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Somorjit Salam said that the CSCs are the implementing agencies and they will be assisted by supervisors and VLEs.
He appealed to all especially the CSC to cooperate and exercise their duty earnestly for the overall well being of the District.
He asked all the enumerators to collect data correctly and that the negligence of few people should not affect the future of the economically weak categories.
The launching program was attended by Lalmani Singh (MCS) ADM Senapati, SDOs, DLOs, CSC members and VLEs.
Kangpokpi: Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi Lalithambigai K (IAS) urged the village authorities and people to give full cooperation with the officials for smooth conduct of the 7th Economic Census.
She stated this while addressing the gathering at the formal launching of the 7th Economic Census for Kangpokpi District today at the Conference Hall of DC Complex Kangpokpi District HQ.
DC Lalithambigai K also advised the enumerators and supervisors to be in touch with the District Administration for any doubts and clarification during the census exercise.
The DC also informed that meeting of the District Level Committee will be held every week to review the progress and problems during the conduct of the census.
The launching programme was also attended by SDOs, Enumerators, Supervisors, members of District Level Committee, DLOs and Village Authorities.
It may be noted that all households/establishments engaged in non-agricultural economic activities including construction, except public administration, defence and compulsory social security are proposed to be covered in the 7th Economic census.
More than 8.5 lakh enumerators and 3.2 lakh supervisors were deployed to collect information.
Kamjong, Sep 9: DC Kamjong district Kengoo Zuringla launched the 7th Economic Census, 2019 at the Camp office, Imphal today.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC stressed on the importance of gathering accurate information about the economic activity of people in hill areas for proper and effective implementation of Govt scheme and programme.
The launching programme was attended by the representative of NSO (FOD), CSC, supervisors, enumerators and district officials.
As part of the programme, the DC had a productive discussion with the supervisors and enumerators while encouraging them to take up the census exercise diligently.
The DC also appealed to all the citizens of the district particularly the Village Authority to extend maximum cooperation to the enumerators to carry out the census exercise successfully.
