Police constable candidates announce total shutdown from December 10

Imphal, December 08 2017:
The All Manipur DPC Completed Re-recruitment Candidate of Police Constable, Male 2013 Batch has announced a total shutdown across Manipur from the midnight of December 10 as part of their campaign to get the result of the recruitment process .
In a statement released by the DPC completed re-recruitment candidates said they met the Chief Minister in Bengaluru on November 14 during which the CM had assured them of an inquiry and declaration of the recruitment result by December 5 .
Subsequent to the assurance from the Chief Minister and also after putting forward a suggestion to give their demands by December 7 the group had called off all kinds of protests in their five long years of campaign .
However, as the Government has failed to act till date, the group stated that it will resume their protest from the midnight December 10 .
In their statement, they announced a total shutdown will be imposed across Manipur .
The total shutdown will be relaxed for electricity, water supply, rituals and religious activities, hospitals and the press, the statement mentioned .
It added the group will not make any compromise except meeting their sole demand for the declaration of the recruitment result .
The statement further said that the State Government should be held responsible for any untoward incident that may happen during the shutdown.
