Imphal, April 08 2019:
Claiming that voting for NPF, BJP and Congress candidates will only result in either the formation of Greater Nagaland or the enforcement of CAB 2016, NPP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has appealed the voters in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency to vote for NPP candidate Thangminlien Kipgen.
He was speaking at an election campaign for NPP candidate Thangminlien Kipgen which was jointly organized by the NPP units of Pangaltabi and Chairel at Chairel today.
Observing that forming Government in the Centre either by BJP and Congress will be tough this time as BJP is getting weak in the country while the Congress will not be able to get enough seats to form the Government alone, the Deputy Chief Minister went on to claim that NPP will get due advantage in forming the Government in the Centre.
Pointing out that sending NPF candidate as MP from Manipur will ensure due advantage for pursuance of Greater Nagaland at the Central Government and Parliament, Joykumar said that NPF is backed by a group who demands Greater Nagaland formation.
On the other hand, Congress is no longer a party which stood against the demand of Greater Nagaland.
Although when the Congress party was in power, during the tenure of O Ibobi as Chief Minister, the Congress had stood against NSCN and its leader Muivah, the same party is now fielding a candidate which does not oppose the formation of Greater Nagaland.
At the same time, Congress is now in alliance with NPF in Nagaland and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has even announced that the party will solve the Naga Framework issue if it comes to power.
Hence, sending Congress candidate as MP will be same to the case of sending NPF candidate as MP.
Meanwhile, sending BJP MP in the Parliament will amount to giving consent to the implementation of CAB 2016 in Manipur and North East and the sweat and toil of the people in opposing the Bill in the past will be useless as BJP National president Amit Shah had openly declared that CAB 2016 will be brought back if BJP is voted to power again.
He continued that BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav's assertion that North East will not be harmed by CAB 2016 has proved that BJP is fixed at passing CAB 2016 in the near future.
Recounting that NPP has been consistently fighting against CAB 2016 and even warned the BJP Government that it will withdraw from alliance with the BJP if CAB is tabled in the Rajya Sabha, the Deputy Chief Minister asserted that the stand and pressure from NPP made BJP refrain from bringing out CAB 2016 in Rajya Sabha.
Many other NPP leaders and locals were also present at the election campaign meeting.
