Imphal, September 07 2015:
International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has expressed concern over State Government's silence on Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla's complaint letter to the Centre regarding the present situation of Manipur.
In a statement, IPSA said that ILPS is necessary to safeguard the whole indigenous population of Manipur.
As such, opposition to passing of three Bills regarding ILPS implementation would make the future of indigenous people of the State insecure, IPSA opined.
Flaying Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla for allegedly showing the present situation of Manipur in poor light, IPSA asked the Chief Minister to learn showing some mercy to Bru refugees first in his State.
Regarding disruption of train services at different parts of Bihar by the supporters of Pappu Yadav, IPSA urged Biharis, who are residing in Manipur, to tell the truth to the people of Bihar instead of conveying misleading information.
During the sustained pro-ILPS agitation that lasted for nearly two months, no Bihari was attacked in the State, IPSA said.
The association said that people of Manipur do not oppose entry of non-locals to the State but demand to introduce a mechanism to regulate their entry and exit.
