No lockdown relaxation in Kangpokpi till August 15

Kangpokpi, August 07 2020:
As another COVID positive case has been detected with no travel history in Kangpokpi town yesterday, the District Headquarters will remain under complete lockdown with no relaxation till August 15 despite the Government's relaxation on various sectors.
A security personnel of ADC Sadar Hills Chairman was tested COVID-19 positive yesterday with no travel history.
Necessary measures have been taken up by the medical department and district administration as the security personnel was shifted to Lamboikhongnangkhong CCC and contact tracing was immediately initiated by the medical department.
It is worth mentioning that results of the around 103 persons who contacted with COVID positive ASHA worker from the district came negative while the ASHA worker has been shifted at COVID Care Centre at Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong.
With the detection of the positive case with no travel history, the District Magistrate/DC Kangpokpi, Somorjit Salam declared a containment measure in the geographical area of Salem Veng, Kangpokpi Ward No1, the residential area of ADC Sadar Hills Chairman along with TC.
College Campus, Kangpokpi IQC, Emmanuel School Campus, Haipi IQC and DR Kharel School Campus, Kalapahar IQC.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate/DC Kangpokpi also issued new guidelines for lockdown till August 15 or until further order with various exemptions in pursuance of the Secretariat: Home Department, Government of Manipur order to be followed in the district today.
However, the emergency joint meeting of the local civil bodies including KWWO and KYU under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee decided to continue complete lockdown within the town with no exemption or relaxation as a local arrangement, considering the alarming situation in the town.
Despite the Government's order relaxing locality-based retail shops to be opened from 8 am till 12 noon, no shops in the town shall be opened in Kangpokpi town till August 15 and vehicle movements are also strictly prohibited in the town.
