Imphal, December 06 2015:
In line with the State Government's efforts to supply power round the clock, the Chief Secretary has written to all Government Departments, army, paramilitary forces and Assam Rifles to install pre-paid power meters in their respective offices and camps.
The State Government has been working hard to ensure power supply for 24 hours in a day all over the State.
The Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has already set a target of ensuring power supply round the clock at all district and sub-divisional headquarters from 2016, pointed out Chief Secretary O Nabakishore's letter.
The letter further asked all Government departments to install pre-paid power meters in all their respective offices.
When MSPDCL staff went to some camps of army, Assam Rifles and other central paramilitary forces to install pre-paid power meters, they were told that no instructions have been received from the higher commands regarding installation of pre-paid power meters.
While recounting this experience of MSPDCL staff, the Chief Secretary asked authorities of army, Assam Rifles and other central paramilitary forces concerned to take up necessary measures so that pre-paid meters can be installed at their respective camps within the month of December.
