Imphal, November 06 2017:
The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has expressed dismay over the assault charge levelled against the students' body by KSA when the offence was committed by them .
In a statement issued by its VP Md Burhamuddin, MSF said that about 40-50 members of KSA armed with pointed/sharp objects and led by one Khulakpam Sanjoy barged into the residence of Lucky Konsam, VP of MSF head office on Nov 5 at around 10.30 am and assaulted him after questioning him .
It seriously viewed the assault of its VP at his home and avowed not to leave the matter lightly .
The KSA members fled from the place in 2 Vans, 1 Alto car and six two-wheelers when locals gathered after they assaulted Lucky Konsam, it said .
The KSA members who rode in the six two-wheeler vehicles suffered injuries as they rammed themselves while trying to flee from the place .
The MSF volunteers took the injured persons to Raj Medicity on humanitarian ground, it said .
As such, the allegation against MSF of assaulting KSA members was baseless and devoid of any logic .
It further said that the same day at around 1.30 pm, about 20-30 members of KSA, armed with iron rod and dao went to the house an executive member of MSF, Moirangthem Chingkheinganba at Kongba Nongthombam Leikai and scared the women and children present at the house .
The KSA members were led by Khagemba Suraj, it said while adding that MSF would not spare Khagemba Suraj and Khulakpam Sanjoy .
MSF also expressed shock that KSA claimed in the media that its members went to Pukhao for mobilisation.
If they truly went there for mobilisation, they should not have gone there with sharp or dangerous weapons .
It then urged the KSA to learn some organisation ethics from MSF.
