UTLA seeks Govt's attention

United Tribal Liberation Army-GHQ (Armed Wing) today expressed its disappointment over the alleged abduction of Longpi village chief by NSCN-IM on February 27 .
The outfit Operation Command, Amos Tribal said that Chief of Longpi village, Kailal Gangte Kuki, who is also the chairman of the area's Chief Association, was reportedly abducted by NSCN-IM on February 27 and later released the next day after threatening him.
He also said that NSCN-IM had threatened and warned Longpi chief that the people of Longpi circle covering seven polling stations should not be involved with the Congress party and not cast a single vote in favour of Congress in the Assembly polls to be held on March 8 .
He further said that such intimidating activities of NSCN-IM is against the decision of the Planning Committee, UTLA-GHQs (Armed Wing) and the people of the area.
While seeking an amicable relationship to maintain peace and security, the outfit asked all organizations concerned not to repeat such unlawful activities against the innocent people.
The outfit also sought the Government's intervention over the NSCN-IM's menacing activities which have created an unrest environment in the area.
