Imphal, April 05 2018:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has asserted that a serious crisis has been unfolding between two/three Ministers of the incumbent BJP-led coalition Government in the backdrop of the alleged withdrawal of over Rs 3 crore using forged CDA.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan here today, MPCC spokesman S Manaobi (Khoiranthaba) remarked that the fraudulent act of withdrawing funds using forged CDA is becoming clearer and what transpired between the Finance Minister and the Works Minister has been exposed.
In connection with the issue of forged CDAs, Finance Department lodged a complaint and one individual has been pulled up.
It looks like the individual would be a made a scapegoat.
Even as the Works Minister clarified that no funds were withdrawn using forged CDA, Finance Department funds have been withdrawn using forged CDA.
Again the PWD Chief Engineer was saying that over Rs 3 crore has been withdrawn.
Given these diverse statements, the truth remains a puzzle, Manaobi said.
The arrest of an individual soon after Congress party exposed withdrawal of funds using forged CDA smacks of an intention to blame the particular individual for wrongful withdrawal of over Rs 3 crore.
Such attempts to cover up the fraudulence only testifies that the act of fraudulence is a fact, Manaobi asserted.
Hareshwar Goswami, another spokesman of the party, alleged that the Works Minister's clarification that no funds were withdrawn using forged CDA was a blatant lie.
He went on to claim that the Congress party has enough evidence of the wrongdoing.
BJP's declaration to accomplish in 15 months what Congress could not in 15 years is now becoming true.
Hareshwar Goswami listed the BJP's achievements as forming a coalition Government without any common minimum programme, distortion of Manipur's history at the Madhavpur Fair, withdrawal of funds using forged CDA etc.
Reacting to Works Minister Th Biswajit's assertion that it was not right to blame the Chief Minister in connection with the issue of forged CDAs, Mahila Congress State president L Tilotama said that the Congress party was not making any false allegation.
She said that the case should be handed over to the NIA for thorough investigation.
On the other hand, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary (administration) K Saratkumar while pointing out that the Works Minister had clarified the matter, said that the Congress party's allegation of withdrawal of a huge amount of fund is unacceptable.
