Buses to bring back medical students flagged off

CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam flagged off 3 buses to bring back about 80 medical students from Guwahati today.
The medical students are returnees from Kyrgyzstan who will reach Guwahati tomorrow.
Flagging off the buses from North AOC near Raj Medicity, Karam Shyam said even though over 1000 positive cases of COVID have been detected in the State, the recovery rate is quite impressive.
Giving credit for the successful treatment of many COVID patients in the State with zero death so far to healthcare professionals, especially doctors and nurses who are fighting the pandemic in the frontline, he said the Government acknowledged the selfless sacrifice being made by the healthcare workers, drivers, police personnel, volunteers in quarantine centres and other for the safety of all amid the lockdown.
Advising people to follow the safety guidelines laid down by the Governments and experts, he also appealed all to take part in the global effort to flatten COVID infection curve until a vaccine is developed.
The buses were arranged by the Manipuri Kyrgyzstan Medical Students' Parents Association (MKSPA).
Meanwhile, president of MKSPA, L Dhananjoy Singh has appealed to the State Government to evacuate the remaining Manipuri students who are still stranded in Kyrgyzstan.
