3 Union Ministers assigned to inspect flood woes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assigned three Union Ministers to make spot assessments of the impacts of landslides and floods in Manipur and also to take all necessary relief measures.
A six-member team of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by its president Th Chaoba called on the Prime Minister at Parliament House at 1.50 pm today.
The other members of the team who were present at the meeting with the Prime Minister were M Ashnikumar, K Saratkumar, Ng Robert, Kh Joykishan and Th Bishwajit.
M Ashnikumar told The Sangai Express from Delhi that the meeting lasted for around 15 minutes during which the State delegates highlighted landslides at different places of the State including the Joumol disaster where 20 villagers were buried alive, extensive floods in the southern part of Manipur valley, inundation of thousands of hectares of paddy fields and loss of connectivity at different places due to landslides.
Highlighting the woos of displaced people currently putting up at relief camps, the BJP team urged the Prime Minister to sanction a relief package at the earliest.
After listening to all the points raised by the delegates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju and MoS (DoNER) Dr Jitendra to take up all possible relief measures for the people of Manipur affected by landslides and floods.
The Prime Minister also asked the Union Home Minister to make an assessment of the law and order situation and the impacts of flood in Manipur.
Further, all Central Government officials concerned were directed to submit a detail report to the PMO by 5 pm today, conveyed Ashnikumar.
The delegates also sought the attention of the Prime Minister towards the ongoing movement for enforcement of ILPS or similar mechanism and the death of Sapam Robinhood in police firing on July 8 whose body lies still unclaimed.
The Prime Minister condoled the death of Robinhood as well as the death of 20 people in a landslide, Ashnikumar added.
