COVID-19 positive woman delivers baby boy in CHC Saikul

Kangpokpi, December 01 2020:
A healthy baby boy was delivered by a COVID-19 pregnant woman in labour (G3P2) in the newly constructed temporal isolation room of the Community Health Centre Saikul, yesterday.
The baby is reported to be stable and all birth dose vaccines have been given to the baby.
The pregnant woman hails from T Gamdeiphai village, Saikul.
The staff of CHC Saikul led by Dr Shonsan Koireng included Nengcha (nurse), Lhilhing (nurse), Paongam (WA) and testing team on duty Th Ojit and Lhukhohao Tuboi.
They managed to deliver in compliance with the relevant SOPs from the authority without any complications, while ensuring strict IPC measures.
Further, CHC Saikul have put in place a Triage Block in the health centre which comprises of registration and triaging of patients, testing of COVID-19, temporary isolation area, donning and doffing area to ensure proper management of COVID and non-COVID cases in the Health centre.
