Deputy Speaker unveils memorial stone

Deputy Speaker K Robindro unveiled a memorial stone of a minor girl who was killed after being raped at Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Loukok today.
The young girl child was murdered after being gang-raped on September 3, 2020 .
K Robindro said at the function that what happened to the girl child was really unfortunate and timely action taken up by the police with cooperation by JAC, Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) and various CSOs led to the apprehension of culprits involved in the incident.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also had taken the incident seriously and had extended every possible help to bring justice and the Chief Minister has also assured all possible help to provide pension to the father of the victim who is differently abled under the pension scheme for differently abled persons, he added.
He also said the ex-gratia as promised to the family of the young victim will also be provided as soon as possible through the Chief Minister.
Showing gratitude for his timely intervention and cooperation to bring justice to the heinous crime, the JAC and MMWO decided unanimously that 42 family of the locality will support K Robindro in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly elections.
Welcoming the decision to support him, K Robindro said that he was very fortunate to have such cooperation from the locals.
He added that road development work in Mayang Imphal AC has been taken up and the ongoing road metalling work at various wards of the AC will be completed before 'Yaoshang' and 'Eid' and the respective contractors have been instructed on the same.
The roads on the side of the river in Sapam, Uchiwa and Wangbal which had deteriorated following two back to back floods will also be developed after the work programme for it gets approved, he added.
K Robindro assured that even if all the roads and streets in the whole AC are not fully developed in this term, it will be completed by the next term, He also said the process to provide drinking water to every household in the Constituency is already in motion and nearing completion.
Water supply for Bengun area will be provided from Sapam water supply until the completion of the Rs 10 crore worth project to provide water supply to is completed.
Earth filling work for the construction of an Idgah in Manipur has already been started and will be completed in the next 10 days, he added.
The programme was also attended by representatives of JAC and MMWO.
