Many extend Id-ul-Zuha greetings

Governor, Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, other CSOs and student bodies have extended good wishes and greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
In his greeting, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla said that Id-ul-Zuha, the festival of sacrifice signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self-interest for the good of all.
The festival promotes tolerance, harmony and goodwill amongst different communities, she added.
The Governor also appealed all to forget any differences and usher in an era of peace and harmony in the State.
Chief Minister N Biren, in his greetings, said that the festival which is celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in India and the world commemorates the ancient story of great faith and sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim.
"This feast inspires us to give away that which is dear to us and earn the pleasure of Allah", he said.
However, considering the prevailing of COVID-19 pandemic, N Biren appealed to restrict the celebration by offering ritual prayers in the safety of their homes.
"Let us once again pledge to protect our community and population through our individual and collective responsible action", N Biren added.
Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba also extended his greetings to the Muslims on the occasion.
Works Minister Th Biswajit, Dy Speaker K Robindro, many CSOs and student bodies including All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO), Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Co-ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC), United Meitei Pangal Organisation (UMPO), Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO), Youths' Sporting Association (YSA), Lilong Haoreibi and Meitei Pangal Ee-gee Khongul Liba Foundation Committee (MPEKLFC) also extended warm wishes on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
MPCC president Moirangthem Okendro also conveyed heartiest message of rejoice, unity, harmony, sacrifice and love to the Muslim brethren in Manipur in particular and other communities in general on the auspicious occasion of the festival.
"I am sure the festival of Id-ul-Zuha will continue to promote the spirit of love, cooperation and sacrifice among all people living in the State", Okendro said.
