Napat Meira Paibi seeks justice

The Napat Meira Paibi group has demanded befitting punishment of all the culprits involved in the brutal murder of Moirangthem Mohon Singh of Napat Mayai Leikai, Kumbi.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, secretary of the Meira Paibi group Y Memcha said that M Mohon Singh (32) s/o M Mangijao of Napat Mayai Leikai went out from his home at about 4 pm of April 26 .
Families members searched for Mohon at different places as he did not return till late night.
The search continued next morning too.
After an extensive, Motion's head was found severed at a paddy field of Napat Mayai Lambi on April 27 .
A loin cloth (khudei), dish, bowls and cups were found near severed head.
On further searching together with Kumbi Police, the beheaded body was also found wrapped in a jute bag from Sugnu river.
In the meantime, Kangabam Ibomcha s/o K Ghambir of Sugnu Tangjeng Khunou but staying Napat Awang Leikai surrendered to Kumbi Police admitting the same heinous murder.
Enraged by the brutal murder, local people vandalised and set afire the house of K Ibomcha.
Even as Kumbi Police came looking for those people involved in setting afire the house of the accused, the murder case of Mohon has been kept unmoved, Memcha alleged.
Demanding that the Government should award exemplary punishment to all those involved in the murder of Mohon, the Meira Paibi leader warned that intense agitation would be launched together with the mass if the same demand is not fulfilled at the earliest.
Moirangthem (O) Ashangbi, wife of late M Mohon appealed to the authorities concerned to take up necessary actions in the interest of her five year old son and 18 months old daughter.
She said that their family were surviving by working as daily wage earners.
